Before the internet, distance education was costly and time consuming for students. Most of their educational material would be shipped to their professors or sent in the mail. Other than that, students would have to travel to class.

Benefits of Distance Education:

More accessible for students to enter a specific field. If a student is interested in pursuing a career in art, they can take classes at their own pace and decide whether or not they want to enter that field after graduation.

Benefits for Administrators:

The main benefit for administrators is that online education does not require enormous amounts of space as brick and mortar colleges do. Online education saves a lot of money on construction projects, paying teachers and maintaining a student body. Online education is also much easier to access for prospective students who may not afford the costs associated with traditional college admissions or living expenses. Online Education also gives administrators more time to focus on how the school can improve its infrastructure and get more students enrolled in classes each year.

Online Learning cuts down on the number of people needed to teach specific classes because the teacher can reach so many different students through one class assignment instead of meeting with each student separately.

Online Education is almost always much cheaper than traditional colleges.

The cost of education is less for students because most universities use a sliding scale based on family income to determine how much each student pays. Students currently attending classes at brick and mortar colleges can save money by taking their classes online. There are a variety of resources available through the internet that help instructors teach courses. If the student is interested in taking just one class, they can travel to the school’s campus only once and take that specific class. Online Education plateforms create online courses that allows students to attend classes even if they cannot leave their home town because they would have to drive pretty far away from where they live before accessing parking.

These include online tutorials and videos, customized lesson plans and homework, online tutoring services supported by live tutors, self-assessment tools, interactive discussion forums for students, virtual classes and virtual schools. These are all examples of distance education, but not all are complete-blown distance learning programs. It is essential to distinguish between the two to avoid confusion during conversations about online Learning.

Blended Learning Increases Both Student Engagement And Teacher Enjoyment

A blended learning environment allows teachers to retain the human component of education while still utilizing the more effective benefits of technology. If a school is not investing inappropriate levels of technology for its students, then it will not be able to take advantage of this opportunity. For schools with limited resources and staff, the need for a blended learning environment is even more critical.
