The fact is that we all have habits, routines, impulses, and reactions. And you need to be aware of what you are doing to be able to change the habits, routines, impulses, etc.

One important thing to remember is that if you have habits, routines, impulses, and reactions that you dont even see, you can’t really change them. So what you need to do is be aware of them and take conscious action to change them. One of the things I’m doing to be more mindful of my own habits and routines is to write down what I do to become aware of them and then change the things I see to avoid doing them.
