Before I get started I have a little business to attend to. Atomic Robo Vol.2: Atomic Robo & The Dogs of War will be hitting stores on August 13th. I did a shit job of begging you pre-order issues 2.1 and 2.2, but 2.3 can still be pre-ordered. Please do so.

Brian is doing a much better job of it that I am.

Also, we got some new reviews and random Internet chatter in for Atomic Robo. You can check those out on CBR, and Comics Bulletin. There are a few typos and misquotes in the CBR interview -that happens sometimes with email interviews. It’s no big deal, and we LOVE CBR -I just wanted to point it out to you guys. Nothing major though; just Brian being quoted with my answers, my response to the final question being omitted, and 8-Bit Theater somehow being nominated for an Eisner. . . I don’t know where that came from. EDIT: Oh look, the uncut version of the CBR interview is up on Atomic-Robo.com.

I hope that at some point in the future bad reviews for Atomic Robo stop hurting so much. Granted you really have to consider the source, and some random bunch of dorks with a Blogger account aren’t exactly what you’d call impressive movers and shakers in the comic book industry. I don’t really know where to go with this week’s blog. Its nearly lunchtime, but it doesn’t feel that way because the Widget had a delayed school opening due to the snow. I’m not popping acid reflux meds like candy and worrying if I’ll get my Punisher page done today, and I’m not trying to cram the rest of my life into 5 minutes a day . (more…)

The only thing that sucks about working until 3AM is getting up again at 7AM to take your kid to school. On a scientific note the experience has added a new technical term to my vocabulary: Vomit Tired. As in “I am so tired that I think I might deposit the content of my stomach onto my keyboard”.

I officially declare today, Monday October 1, 2007 to be a day of rest.

The big news this week is on FatEye. So Cheryl Senter (who I mentioned last post) came over to the house and followed me around with a camera and some recording equipment. My wee little mind is still being blown by the whole experience. Though I was basically on the verge of vomiting from nerves the entire time, I still really enjoyed the experience. (more…)

Okay, staying up until 3AM playing Lost Planet –not a good idea. But honestly, when I sat down around 9:30PM I only intended to play for an hour, then go to bed. I swear. I guess that’s the mark of a really good game –I was totally sucked in. And this morning, I am totally sucking eggs.

I keep finding more and more awesome in this game. I was pretty sure I’d seen all the awesome. But each level -BAM!, more awesome. Does anyone remember Bionic Commando? I think it was a game on the original Nintendo. Maybe Sega. Well, in LP, just as in BC, you’ve got this super grapnel launcher mounted on your wrist, which you can use to get to high places -but you can also latch onto the big Bugs and Mechs, haul yourself in, and perch atop them while you empty a clip into the pilot’s compartment, or big buggy head. Awesome.

Pencils are done for ATOMIC ROBO #5, and I’m already getting things moving for KILLER OF DEMONS –looks like we may be moving to a larger publisher whose books are more in line with KOD. I’ll have more on that later –like after I sign a contract. (more…)
