Atomic Robo Yard Sale

Thursday, October 9th, 2008

Just thought you’d like to know that I really would like to unload some Robo art so we’re having a SALE! It’s taking up valuable space in my bathtub, so it really must go.

Yes I said bathtub. What of it?

You can take a look at what Bob’s got posted over in my corner of the ComicArtHouse. If you have a favorite page that you don’t see, just ask. I may still have it and would be happy to give it to you, (in exchange for some of your Earth dollars, of course).

I would also relly like to say good bye to my PWJ pages. Those are on super-duper sale.

Atomic Robo & The Dogs of War, Done

Tuesday, October 7th, 2008

Well, I’ve been having a fine few days. Why’s that? Because I finished the last issue of Atomic Robo Vol.2 last Wednesday. I wouldn’t say I took some time off after that, but I did crank back the Weg-O-Meter a few notches. I took the time to bust out a couple of long overdue commissions, and start putting together stuff for the new Atomic Robo Sketchbook. (more…)

Cloverfield & Kirkman

Monday, September 29th, 2008

So there we were, in a giant, hanger-like structure, built into the very rock of the island. Below us were miles of tunnels and chambers stretching down into the Earth -they would be easy to seal off and were stocked with enough food to last a thousand people for fifty years. Which was good, because that’s about how many of us there were. The cavernous space offered little protection -it’s ceiling was too high. But once we organized the evacuation, the people would be safe. (more…)

Atomic Robo Vol.1 TPB Important Update!

Monday, September 22nd, 2008

You may remember that Diamond worked out a deal with Red 5 to keep up to 250 copies of Atomic Robo and the Fightin’ Scientists of Tesladyne in stock at all times. If they dipped under a certain target number, they’d automatically order back up to 250 copies in addition to whatever was needed to fill orders. The idea was that this would solve the problem of Diamond showing that Robo v1 was out of stock, therefore unavailable, therefore 95% of retailers wouldn’t bother to order it, therefore Diamond wouldn’t get more, etc. (more…)

Is It Monday Again? Already?

Monday, September 15th, 2008

I’m a little unprepared this week. Normally I write the blog up in little snippets as the week goes by, a few minutes at a time. But this week, nothing has really grabbed my interest. And now I have to waste an hour or so talking about nothing.

I suppose I could rant about Sarah Palin, but I don’t really need that kind of indigestion at 8:30 in the morning. Besides, Matt Damon already did that. (more…)

I Have No Point

Monday, September 8th, 2008

I  must admit that I’m at a bit of a loss for this week’s blog. The Robert Kirkman thing didn’t exactly inspire the conversation I was hoping for, and that’s left me feeling a little uncertain.

Luckily, my friend Ryan sent me this. I met Ryan back in college and was delighted to find out a year or two ago that he also is a closet geek, like me. (more…)

How To Save Comics

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

So last week I was asked what I thought about the recent Robert Kirkman video. The text break-down of his concept is also at that link, and worth checking out. I thought it would be interesting to get Brian Clevinger in on this, so we will both be sharing our thoughts on this. Brian’s response can be seen over at atomic-robo.com. (more…)

Yay The Olympics Are Over

Monday, August 25th, 2008

I was at a friend’s house the other day and they had the Olympics on their TV. As a child I hated the Olymipcs because it interrupted the programs I actually wanted to watch. Quantum Leap for example. While I was in Alaska we ate dinner in a bar one night and playing on the big screen was the opening ceremonies and they were amazing. Fake, CGI special effects and all. I missed some of it so I can’t wait for it to hit the internet so I can re-watch it. Thinking that perhaps my pallet for Olympic sports had changed I watched what was playing on my friend’s TV for a few minutes.

GOJIRA!

Still recovering from Alaska.

Man, what a travel marathon I’ve had the last few months! I’m glad I decided to skip Baltimore Comic Con this year -it might have killed me.

But here, have another Atomic Robo & The Dogs of War review. (more…)
