San Diego Comic Con! (Edit)

So SDCC begins this Thursday. Brian, Ronda, and I will be with Red5 Comics at L3, in the small press area. Things are going to be pretty tight, so we won’t be there every minute of the con, but I hope to see lots of people, sell tons of sketches and Robo pages, and wander around, taking in the spectacle.

This will be Dorinda’s first Comic Con -her first multi-day show in face. I’m really glad that she;s going with me. This will be the first time we’ve ever gone anywhere without the Widget for more than a day. We’re a little nervous, but Gran and Uncle Matt are coming up to stay with her, and then she’s going back to NYC with them for her own little adventure. Should be fun for everyone.

I am desperately trying to rework my summer schedule. Between July and August I am currently set up to miss 21 days of work. I just can’t do that. So I’m trimming the fat, canceling some things, and trying to shorten others. I’m already a few days behind on Robo 2.4, so this will be shitty no matter how well I organize it.

We spent Sunday cleaning the house in preparation for our visitors. Showers were scrubbed, toilets brushed, floors mopped, carpets vacuumed, and several metric tons of crap put wherever it was suppose to be kept (instead of in the piles that they have evolved into. It really helped matters that it was 90 degrees and rained all day. Nice and muggy. So I’m beat.

In other news, uh . . . well to be totally honest there is no other news. I’ve been obsessed with all the cons and other things I’ve got going on. That and Brian and I learned rather brutally this week how ill prepared we are to take Robo beyond the comic book. There’s not much to be said, except that for several days I found myself so freaked out that I could barely work.

I’m going to end this here since I’ve got tons of packing to do and 4 more pages of Robo to get inked before I leave. And then at least 2 more paged to get done while I’m at the con! Cripes.

Hope you guys are all okay. I feel like I haven’t seen anyone in years, though meeting new friends and hooking up with internet-buddies in Toronto was a blast.
