Atomic Robo & The Fightin’ Scientists of Tesladyne June 18!
The Atomic Robo Vol.1 TPB hits stores this Wednesday. Hooray for Trade Paperbacks, (otherwise known as “graphic novels” to the pretentious, hipster elite). I will be signing at New England Comics for a good chunk of the day this Wednesday. I’ll be at the Malden store from 11:30am-1:30pm, and then the Harvard store from 3:30pm-5:30pm.
For those of you at the other end of the Right Coast, Brian will be signing at Bad Apple Comics. He will be at the OBT store from 12:00pm-2:00pm, and the UCF store from 4:00pm-6:00pm. I am assured than anyone in Orlando will know what “UCF” and “OBT” mean.
This is a really nice review of the Atomic Robo Vol.1 TPB (Atomic Robo & The Fighting Scientists of Tesladyne). What I like the most about it is that people are starting to see the “big picture” of the kind of character Brian and I have created, and the sorts of stories we are trying to tell. Very nice indeed.
I need to be honest. I’ve really missed the internet talking about Robo these past few months. I sort of liked the attention. . .
This review on ComicsBulletin is also very nice. I particularly like it because of it’s opening line; “Atomic Robo is not Hellboy. Let’s get that out of the way right at the start. It’s an easy comparison to make, [ tell me about it!], but I honestly don’t think there’s much to it.”
This weekend will be even more exciting for me; I have an excuse to visit NYC and claim it as a business expense on my taxes! Woo-Hoo! Jeff Powell and I were invited to Jim Hanley’s Universe for a relase celebration and book signing. The chances of a semi-organized Drink & Draw following the Friday signing are high. We will also be at the Staten Island store, (our old LCS from childhood), on Saturday.

RANDOM SPLENDOR
-Oh the hell with it. I’m voting Republican.
-I am really enjoying the Bad Company Demo. It’s like CoD4 and Team Fortress2 had a lovechild. It’s the Kelly’s Heroes of video games.
-If only the real School House Rock had been this brutally honest.
-BMW’s GINA. Now that’s a girl I’d like to get into. (da-dum-ching! “thank you folks, I’ll be here all week. Try the veal.”)
-A really super-cool Iron Man/Spiderman CGI short. This is from the Marvel Adventure line of . . uh, stuff. I love these because they are simple and good. Like old school comic books. Perfect for the kiddies.

What the hell is the OODA Loop?

Every time I see “OODA Loop” I think it should be some kind of weird science device. Like a handheld Tesla Coil or a magnetic suspension system for superconductors or something.
The OODA Loop is actually a astronomical event where as the ice trails of large stallar bodies can be sen without the aid of high powered telescopes.
Nah, i’m just shittin’ ya. I got no figgin’ clue either, but that sounded good.
Yea for Wednesday! Can’t wait to get my Robo trade! Can’t wait to see what extra goodies lie within.
Happy Dad’s Day to ya Scotty boy!
Can’t wait for the Robo trades. I figure I’ll get several and have them at the ready for birthday/Christmas presents.
“ucf” is university of central florida.”obt” is orange blossom trail, where all the hookers hang out. two of the only things to do in orlando go to school and see hookers. : )
You should sign at the coolidge or allston New England Comics store some time. Keep up the good work. I enjoyed Atomic Robo #2 in particular
Awesome! See you Wednesday, Scott!
Will try to make it up to the Harvard store.
Are you signing issues as well as the trade?
Doing any sketching?
Frank- see, I knew someone would know.
Sam- I just go where they send me. =)
Colin -see you then!
Andrew- Yeah I’ll sign whatever you stick in front of me. Time and crowds, (which i don’t expect), allowing, I’d be glad to do a sketch or two.
I think I might need to pick up this, “Atomic Robo” book that everyone is so excited about. Maybe I could get a signed copy… Staten Island is too far though.
Thanks again for the Malden visit! It was a pleasure to meet you, and I hope to get more notice from my office so I can clue my customers in to future visits. Ed called (giddily) twice more after you left. He is VERY excited by the signed TP. Please, drop by any time.
Forde -I only know one guy who spells his name that way. If that’s you then yes, no problem at all.
Jim- It was a lot of fun hanging out with you guys. Great store, BTW. I might enver come back though -there’s no telling what Ed might do to me. =)
Dear Scott, thanks for signing the 7 issues of atomic robo for me. I was the kid who got his 4 wisdom teeth out and couldn’t come to your signing. I really appreciate it, I didn’t think you’d sign all of them, i just had them all to prove I was a real fan. Thanks for the poster too, my face feels a lot better now.
