Scott Wegener

Women love him...

and men want to be him...

It’s More Than a Cookie. It’s a Cake.

Y’know what? Fig Newtons are delicious. I just thought I’d share that with you. After not tasting one of these little wonders for at least a few decades I’ve been snacking on them all week after the Widget declared that she didn’t like them any more, and indicated that I should stop putting them in her lunch.

Damn they’re tasty.

Saturday was an interesting change in routine for me. Rather than doing yet another comic book convention, I was invited to attend Broke: The Affordable Art Fair, in Peterborough NH. It’s part of a weekend –long series of events and it was really great fun. The basic idea was that most of your things be priced under a certain dollar amount so that people who might not normally buy art would take a chance. There was everything from ceramics, to paintings, to clothing, and comics –super-small-press DIYS books and more mainstream things like Robo.

Issue #1 of Atomic Robo and The Dogs of War will be in the June issues of Previews. For those of you who have had trouble in the past finding issues of Robo Vol.1, we HIGHLY recommend that you Pre-order Atomic Robo Vol.2 #1.

And if you really want to score points with your local retailer, (or be a total nudge!), print out this form and bring it to them!

If you’re really smart you might also pre-order Atomic Robo Vol.1 TPB on Amazon!

For those of you who might be wondering just what we have planned for Vol.2, you can check out this awesome interview on Comics Bulletin.

I’ve finally gotten around to scanning some recent sketches, and have added them, as well as new Atomic Robo covers, to the galleries. So go take a look.

Random Splendor

Carl Sagan –vs- The Matrix. I think you really need to be a Sagan fan to appreciate this, but I’m sharing it anyway. Because I think Sagan was THE MAN. And just because it fits, Dave Chappelle’s matrix spoof.

Alex Butera’s really awesome Batman Piderman piece.

The Good, The Bad, and The Weird, from Kim Ji-Woon looks like the best western since they stopped making them in Southern Italy.

Never been a fan of the fig newtons. Raspberry newtons however are the bomb! That cake envelope is just so damn tasty, it’s gotta have crack in it!

I got my trade ordered and have Robo Vol 2 on my pull list. I await them both! Giggitty giggitty goo!

Ugh. Fig Newtons are disgusting, little bits of prepackaged heartburn. Carl Sagan, however, is indeed the man.

I am in love with just about every newton flavor there is. Try Fig Newmans, they’re great too.

Buddy of mine found some frosted newton type things at this little hole in the wall place near him. I overcame my fear and tried one. I think it was blueberry, it may have been salami flavored for all I know. It was dry , grainy and left a taste in my mouth reminiscent of aged lox.

He so owes me big time for that.
