Granite State ComiCon!
My how time flies. Why, just yesterday, I thought I had another week to get ready for this!
So yeah, Granite Con is upon us! I will be there all day, doing sketches, signing books, and selling art, sketchbooks, shirts, and comics.
This is a great family-oriented show, folks. Its a lot of fun. These smaller, one day shows are usually pretty great. Its very casual, you don’t feel overwhelmed, and unlike at the more massive multi-day shows, the artists or writers that you want to meet will actually have a few minutes to just chat with you.
Also appearing is Ethan Van Sciver of Green Lanters and Bendis Board fame/infamy. Ethan is so huge now, that he can afford to do sketches for FREE. Get them while they’re hot!
You can also come meet Scott Kolins, Joe Hill, Khoi Pham, Keith Champagne, and Bob Almond, as well as dozens of local artists.
Hey Scott thanks for the love
We’re going to have a great time on Sunday, weather is gonna be slightly sucky so a perfect day to be indoors searchin for comics!
And Scott you forgot to plug the fact that we’re giving away the Atomic Robo FCBD comic and a FREE Robo Print to the first 100 people!
Er, I just assumed people would click the link and read that part?
Getting excited about the con on Sunday! Crispy forgot to mention the life-sized Jabba the Hutt puppet that the 501st Legion of Star Wars fans created and that it is supposedly fully operational. I got the skinny at Double Midnight today. My 4 and 6-year-old nephews are going to flip out over that thing! So will their Uncle John truth be told. The eldest nephew told me today that he’s dressing up as a Storm Trooper. It’s tempting to wear my Vader costume, but I restrict myself to wearing it only on Halloween (and at the request of any Slave Leia…) I try not to fly my freak flag quite as high as some of my fellow Star Wars fans. Who knows, maybe this Halloween I’ll dress up as Robo. Guess I should start shopping at the hardware store or buy lots and lots on tin foil. See you in a few short days…
These prints aren’t going to be available anywhere else are they? ‘Cause being 3000 miles away, I can’t make it, but I’ve got a full set of Robo stuff so far.. don’t wanna screw that up.
I don’t think so. I don’t even know what they look like!
I made up my first ever prints to sell this weekend -maybe I will have my art rep add them to the store on http://www.comicarthouse.com
I just got the prints today it’s the cover of the trade with our silly ass logo in the bottom corner. If I were a betting man I’d bet that Scott we be producing his own version sans our logo. We wanted to do something special for the show to celebrate the success of Robo.
Actually, I made prints using the “famouse” Robo chucking a 500lb bomb image.
