Sorry this is a day late but I was totally distracted by the Meg White sex tape. I know, I know, she’s not really cute in any way, shape, or form. But I just had to look. Its like a bad car accident. And luckily this is so not Meg White. I shouldn’t have to say this, but don’t check this out at work. in fact, don’t check it out at all. I had originally included a link to an article about it. But then I realized that in an obtuse sort of way I’d be sharing porn with the world.

Halo 3 today! Woot. I know the ad says October, but trust me. Its out today. I’ve never actually played a Halo game -I really like a game that involves more than just pulling the trigger. A fact that you would never know by looking at my past X-360 purchases. But don’t blame me because Microsoft can’t put out anything that itsn’t a shooter. Anyway, I need to see what all the hype is about. I will be picking it up while Emma is at gymnastics. And I will not be getting any work done after putting her to bed tonight.

Speaking of work, hot damn am I busy! Yet totally broke This webcomic work is killing me! I totally under-priced this stuff. The Zombie strips are taking twice as long to finish as I want them too, and I haven’t looked at a Goblin in weeks. So I’m busy all day long -but not sure how the rent is getting paid in October.

So if anyone wants a commission, shirt, piece of art that you’ve seen in the gallery or at a show, please let me know. I also clean windows and do general house work for reasonable prices.

What’s totally ironic about this is that Atomic Robo is doing fantastic. (Iss#1 AUG07 3942, Iss#2 SEPT07 3914). The reviews have been good and the initial order is solid. So there will be a second mini-series. Starting in January . . .(gah!) In addition to that, a fellow who is basically a headhunter for Marvel grabbed a copy of Robo #1 and brought it into the offices to show around. (And a secret inside source tells me that people are actually seeing it.) So I seem to be on the verge of success AND financial ruin all at the same time.

From the stress of all this I’ve sort of lost all enthusiasm for . . . I dunno, everything. I should probably be making more calls to set up even more Robo signings for next month or something, but I’m just fried. Not sleeping isn’t helping at all either.

I probably don’t have to tell you how big a mind-fuck this all is.

Speaking of comics and all the joy they bring into my life: You guys have got to pick up Popgun. 400+ pages of fantastic stories from big names and no names alike, all beautifully done. Check them out on Newsarama too. If you’re a cheapskate (like me) you can get it for next to nothing from DCBS.com. I was really impressed when I checked this book out online.

I must really be getting desperate for background sounds while I work. I had Resident Evil: Apocalypse playing while I worked on zombie strips and to my great surprise, I did not hate it. And I hate EVERY movie that is not 100% awesome. WTF? I learned some interesting facts from RE:A.

1.) That a movie character’s Bad Assedness (its a word!) is directly proportional to how hot they are. Being hot and a scrawny 85lb model pretending to be an “action” hero will double all BA scores.

2.) Being a scrawny 85lb model-turned-actress enables the action hero to huck anything smaller than a VW Vanagon just about anywhere you might want to huck it.

3.) Accurately shooting zombies and other monsters in the head is actually a lot easier than “reality” might imply.

4.) It is totally possible to crash a souped up motorcycle through the obligatory Large Stained Glass Window that you will find in all your better churches and cathedrals, kick said chopper out from under you in mid-air, right into the face of a scary monster, AND shoot the gas tank at the moment the bike hits the bad guy, engulfing both in a ball of flame and shrapnel.

5.) You can totally do that.

Top 20 Comic Book Weapons –Most of these are just so stupid that they HAVE to be on a Top 20 list.

Most of you guys know that I used to be a pilot. While I will freely admit that most of the aerobatic flying I did scared the crap out of me, (actually it was the old and totally crappy airplanes we were doing it in that scared me, but lets not split hairs), I still got a huge aviator stiffy when I saw this. It’s a German film still in production. I hope I get a chance to see it.
