Roadtrip!

Well, all the grunt work for Robo #5 is done. I’m taking the infinished pages with me to Digital Overload where I’ll fill in the blacks, touch up the line work and add all those little tick marks and Mignola-esque crud stains to everything.

My new sketchbook is done! You can get it online at my Lulu Store, or if you figure you’ll be seeing me at a convention you can pick one up in person (with a complimentary sketch). The Atomic Robo sketchbook is also available. It’s a bit rougher around the edges than my regular book, since it lacks the loving touch of a professional. But I can only mooch free work off of so many friends before I run out of them.

Boston Comic Convention is next weekend. There is some more info on their webpage now and they have been advertising like mad. Thank god! All these other small shows don’t seem to bother. They figure they’ve had the same people showing up for twenty years, so while bother letting new people know about it? Duh.

I watched this fantastic BBC documentary called Inside Iran. If you’re like me, you get the shakin’ heebee geebies every time the Moron at the White House opens his mouth to talk about Iran. Because really, it would be great for America if we had a third, ill planned, hopelessly bungled, illegal war, right? This film took a look into the lives of about a dozen people living in Iran: rich, poor, men, women, and children. And what do you know? They were all pretty normal. Just like most of us.

Maybe we should spend some of that energy we devote to foreign fanatics to our own homegrown variety. Regardless, I think everybody should take a look at this documentary. We need more films like this.

Just so I don’t get too serious, (because I know how you hate it when I talk like an adult), I’ll share this politically incorrect pic that I’ve been saving for just such an occasion.

Is there any kind of war that’s NOT illegal?

That and the fact that you don’t achieve peace with a gun…

The Atomic Robo book looks good. I think I might just have to get me one on the 18th.
