The Tax man Cometh

Friday, March 30th, 2007

Well, went to see the tax man today. I was dreading it since 2006 would be the first year I’d be filing taxes as my own boss, and circumstances were such that I never quite put enough aside for that end of the year raping of the anus the IRS is so fond of. (more…)

Atomic MySpace

Monday, March 26th, 2007

Atomic Robo is on MySpace! That fucker went and made his own website. Apparently Brian and I weren’t working hard enough for him. Robo swears he’ll have a blog post up there soon. He’s planning on transferring all the archived stuff over from Mechopolis, but wants something fresh for the debut of the MySpace blog.

I’m really busy finishing up Robo #6 –so busy I haven’t had time to resize pages from #5 to put in the galleries yet. Soon though. I was down in NYC this weekend to help out my mom again. That wiped me out pretty badly. 6hrs in the car alone is no fun no matter how many traffic laws you violate. I did get to pop in for quick visits with friends that I missed the last time I was down. I got very little work done, though I did finish a really fun commission I’d been stalled on. Time to start the next one . . .

I introduced Jeff Powell to the wonderment that is Katamari Damacy. Even after playing Gears of War and Lost Planet on the 360, Katamari is still the best game ever made in the history of forever.

Boston Comic Convention Report

Monday, March 19th, 2007

To say that the bathroom at the Boston Comic Convention was the highlight of the show would not be a misstep, nor would it be a dig against the show itself. The Boston show was absolutely fantastic. The Back Bay Event Center was gorgeous, the people putting on the show very helpful, and the place was packed most of the day and still fairly busy as we started to wrap things up. (more…)

Digital Overload Report

Tuesday, March 13th, 2007

Well that was fun! I’m not a gamer nut myself –though friends and family might disagree. But then again, being older than twenty-five their sense of the true scales of gamer fanaticism are rather skewed and outdated. If I said “LAN”, I don’t think most of them would know what I was talking about. (more…)

Roadtrip!

Friday, March 9th, 2007

Well, all the grunt work for Robo #5 is done. I’m taking the infinished pages with me to Digital Overload where I’ll fill in the blacks, touch up the line work and add all those little tick marks and Mignola-esque crud stains to everything. (more…)

Just a Quicky Before Work

Tuesday, March 6th, 2007

If you don’t enjoy this movie then you are dead to me: The Street Fighter However, if you can’t feel the phlegmie kung foo goodness, you will appreciate BellyQueen. Everyone appreciates BellyQueen. Though someone should inform the handful of too-skinny girls in this performance that you can’t shake what you ain’t got. Like the man said You gotta pack much back.

Its -2 degrees today, not factoring in the 90mph wind chill. I fell unconscious from shock the moment I walked out the door this morning and the Widget had to drive herself to kindergarten. I woke up in Santos Dumont where I ordered a big-ass coffee then scuttled home.

I am so tired right now that I think I might pass out right here at the keyboard. I am bound and determined to complete ROBO #5 by Thursday so that I can enjoy Digital Overload with a clean conscious this weekend. I’m not sure what to expect from DO –I’ll probably just end up playing a bunch of video games. I’m hoping that I’ll actually be busy though.

Alright, 7 ½ pages to go . . .

Red 5 on Silver Bullet Comics

Thursday, March 1st, 2007

Okay, February ended a few short hours ago, and I’ve got the first 7 pages of ROBO #5 inked. I’ll have the book finished before the Digital Overload show on the 9th. To speed up the work I’ve begun inking exclusively in Sharpie Marker. I’m loosing a lot of the finer details, but I’m sure no one will notice. (more…)
