Scott Wegener

Women love him...

and men want to be him...

Holy crap, new site!

Its so fancy and . . .brown.

What’s up with that?

Well kids we’re back. There is still much work to be done but the basics are up and I can start getting some new artwork posted. One of the bad parts of reposting a lot of this art (for me) is that I have to look at a lot of stuff that makes me cringe. But if I’m lucky you won’t notice.

I’m really excited about the new design. It was fun making little icons and I get a kick out of seeing my stuff used in a semi-interactive way. If you find anything that’s not working I hope you’ll drop me an email so that I can get it fixed.

I am eternally indebted to Lawrence Basso for his artists help and for hooking me up with Jon from ShockEnterprise. How can someone so abrassive be so friendly at the same time? Jon held my hand until 2am last night so that we could open for business today, and he continues to work on getting all the bells and whistles turned on.

So what’s been happening since last we blogged?

I had two stories published in anthologies from Image Comics last month. WOOT! Check out Wicked West 2 where I got to work with the amazing trio of Livingston, Tinnell, and Vokes. I also got to do a short with the fabulous Phil Hester, featuring his urban legend hero, The Wretch.

I completed work on a one-shot featuring Jenny Everywhere –an open source (yes, like Linux) comic book character. She’s been brought to life by several webcomic artists but I believe this will be the first time she is appearing in a traditional comic book.

Killer of Demons finally found a publisher. Brain Scan Studio was (I’m told) very excited about the book and the only thing holding up the works now, is me. Yeah. Ironic. Wisely, BSS wants all three issues of the mini-series completed before they go to press. Alas, I am in the middle of a six issue run on one of my other creator-owned projects.

“What’s this,” You ask? ATOMIC ROBO. Written by Brian Clevinger, of 8-Bit Theater interweb fame, Atomic Robo is a pulp sci-fi series of mini-series that mixes comedy with classic (i.e. so bad that its good) sci-fi in the vein of THEM and FORBIDDEN PLANET. Robo is a strange mix of Indiana Jones, Iron Giant, the Rocketeer, Iron Man, and Race Bannon. And how can a book with supporting characters like Carl Sagan and Nikola Tesla not rock? I ask you. I am starting pencils for issue 3 this week. We don’t have a release date yet, but even as we search for a new publisher (is this a theme with me?) we are making plans to sell issues direct to the public via Brian’s on-line store.

Okay, on a final note I am available (read: desperate!) to do some commissions. Know anyone who needs a unique and interesting holiday gift? I need to buy some Christmas gifts and this work barely allows me to keep the lights turned on. So please, take pity.

Okay I’m off. I have LOTS of pics to upload today and Clevinger is going to get cranky if I don’t have some new Robo pages to show him by Friday.
